December to March is the best time to visit, with warm sunny mediterranean climates, but can be very busy over the festive period. Whale season is from July – October when humpback whales and Southern Rights migrate from the cold Cape waters along South Africa’s south coast towards Durban. May to October can be windy and stormy so bring some warm clothes (but still plenty to do and see!)
Spice it up in BoKaap, wander around the amazing V&A Waterfront, Eat Fish & Chips in Kalk Bay, see where the 2 oceans meet at Cape Point, spot Penguins in Simons Town, catch a Cable Car to the top of Table Mountain, watch Humpback whales breach in False Bay, surf the waves at Muizenberg, walk among the flowers at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, take in the historical significance of Robben Island, or drive a few hours away to the Big 5 Game Reserves of the Western Cape.
