Swakopmund is a great destination at any time of year. the drier months are March – May but it is best to visit this coastal town during the summer months when the breeze from the ocean make it cooler than inland destinations.
Most of the activities in Swakopmund happen around the town rather than within it. The dunes of the Namib Desert open a world of sandboarding, quad biking, dune carting and even riding a camel! If you prefer a view from the top, jump out of an airplane or take a hot air balloon ride. For water lovers, enjoy the beaches, dive into the sea or take a boat trip to see seals and dolphins. Or if you’d prefer more of a tranquil holiday, dine out at one the various restaurants and cafés or lose yourself in history at their museums and galleries.
