Zanzibar offers some of the finest beach retreats in the world. Exclusive luxury villas and relaxed beach lodges provide the perfect tranquil escape on this idyllic ‘Spice Island’. Walk barefoot in the white sand, sip a cocktail from your deck overlooking the crystal clear turquoise water or sample some of the exotic spices that grow from coast to coast. Zanzibar’s Stone Town is steeped in medieval history, with bustling markets and cobbled streets, it’s SCUBA sites are some of the richest underwater wonderlands in the world and it’s white powder beaches are magnificent. Dotted around the mainland of Zanzibar are the smaller pristine islands of Pemba and Mafia Island that are the epitome of paradise. It’s no wonder David Livingstone uttered these words when he first set eyes on Zanzibar: “The finest place I have known in all of Africa…an illusive place where nothing is as it seems. I am mesmerised.“

Zanzibar is a stunning location all year round, but from June to October the weather is cooler with hardly any rain at all. December to February is a popular time to visit, but can be very hot. If you are a SCUBA enthusiast then July and August are the best months for diving, as are February and March. The rainy season is March to May, which we recommend you avoid if you can.
Other than soaking up the sun on the white powder beaches and relaxing over long languid lunches al-fresco, there are endless activities to explore in Zanzibar. Take a spice tour, visit the bustling markets of Stone Town, sample the local cuisine, or snorkel in the turquoise clear waters alive with colourful marine life. Zanzibar boats some of the world’s best dive sites which must be seen to be believed.
