Travel from Nairobi to the Nguruman Escarpment on the Western Edge of Kenya's Rift Valley taking in Kenya's ancient history and geological sites. Travel into the Namunyak Conservancy where you will set up mobile camp with the freedom to roam this rugged wilderness at your own pace. Journey onwards after a 3 night stay to the home of one of the largest populations of African Wild Dog in East Africa; the Laikipia District and end your epic adventure in the Mara Naboisho Conservancy bordering the world-famous Masai Mara. An adventure through some of the greatest wildlife destinations in Africa.

Arrive in Nairobi, where you’ll be met by Zarek, your guide, who will transfer you to Brackenhurst Hotel in the highlands North of the city. Brackenhurst is a historic landmark, having been established over 100 years ago amongst the lush tea fields of Limuru. Over half of the 100 acres that it sits on have been set aside for indigenous forest restoration, bringing in almost 200 different bird species – up from just 50 ten years ago.

Day 2 & 3:
Depart early morning by road (or by charter flight) to the Nguruman Escarpment on the Western edge of Kenya’s Southern Great Rift Valley. Stop to explore the largest Acheulean Stone-age tool factory yet discovered at Olorgesailie along the way. Dramatic cliffs, soaring eagles, dusty elephants, and miles and miles of seemingly endless African bush await your arrival on the Nguruman Escarpment.
Overnight: Lentorre Lodge
Activities: Bush-walks, fly camping, game drives, swimming in the Southern Ewaso Nyiro River amongst the mighty Sycamore Fig Trees – The Queen of Trees.
Day 4, 5, 6:
Charter flight to Samburu where we’ll proceed North to Namunyak Conservancy. Here, with a mobile tented camp set up under some trees, we’ll have complete freedom to roam this rugged wilderness at the foot of the Matthew’s Mountain Range at our own pace. One of the main attractions here are the “Singing Wells” of the Samburu people, a unique and not-often-witnessed experience that speaks to the soul.

Day 7 & 8:
Travel by road to Ol Donyo Lemboro Ranch in Laikipia District just to the South of Samburu. This area is home to one of the largest populations of African Wild Dog in East Africa. Being outside any National Parks, we’ll be free to explore this area on foot or by vehicle. We’ll be hosted by the charismatic Steve and Annabelle Carey, who have created a comfortable, well-positioned home overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River.
Overnight: Laikipia Wilderness Camp
Activities: Wild Dog radio tracking, Bush-Walks, River swimming, river rafting, rock climbing, fly camping, day & night game drives
Day 9, 10, 11:
Transfer from Laikipia Wilderness to Nanyuki airstrip, where we’ll catch a scheduled flight to Mara Naboisho Conservancy, a 50,000 acre community-run conservancy bordering the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Mara Naboisho is an award-winning conservancy, boasting one of the highest densities of both Lions and Giraffes in East Africa, providing an exclusive game-viewing experience away from the crowds, and contributes a predictable, tangible income to over 500 Maasai land-owner families. This is big cat country at its very best.
Overnight: Encounter Mara Camp.
